What is it: Their mission is to articulate the biblical call to social justice, inspiring hope and building a movement to transform individuals, communities, the church, and the world.
What it provides: Sojourners ministries grew out of the Sojourners Community, located in Southern Columbia Heights, an inner-city neighborhood in Washington, D.C. The community began at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, in the early 1970s when a handful of students began meeting to discuss the relationship between their faith and political issues, particularly the Vietnam War. In 1971, the group decided to create a publication that would express their convictions and test whether other people of faith had similar beliefs.
The Rejesus Blog
What is it: The Rejesus blogs looks at how he has been quoted, misquoted, filmed, reported on, worshipped and argued over. Content on rejesus is arranged in four main areas: Story, lives, spirituality and creativity.
What it provides: Rejesus has a single focus - it goes to the very heart of Christian life and faith - the person of Jesus Christ himself. Its aim is to reach people who have little previous knowledge of Jesus or the Christian faith and to encourage a step or two of faith. What it provides: Daniel G. Deffenbaugh (Hastings, Nebraska) is an associate Professor of Religion at Hastings College. Most recently he has authored the book,Learning the Language of the Fields: Tilling and Keeping as Christian Vocation (Cowley, 2006). It is his hope that this blog can become a resource for pastors and Christian educators interested in exploring issues of theology, ecology, and integrated health.
