Lately, my college, Hastings College has had overlapping events, which causes the need for students to pick and choose which events they attend. This is causing commotion and unrest on our campus. Students do not appreciate having to "choose" a side, particularly on the issue of creationism vs. evolutionism. There is a presentation for each on the same night at about the same time. Personally, I do not believe there needs to be a "vs." between the two, yet I understand the dilemma. Measures are being taken to reconcile these difficulties, causing the students turmoil and me unrest.
Aside from the current situations on campus, PSALT has been working hard to the get ball rolling and campus ministries aware of our existence. Our most recent meeting was a 2-hour conference call. I had never taken part in a conference call and found it to be quite difficult, discussing matters with 9 people, without being able to see them. However, the meeting was of great success and good things are happening. Our focus is to provide students with the connections they need. This task is looking to be a long project and a triumphant one.
